Nisson Glass Art Garden Art Show and Sale

  • 1227 Lutz Avenue Ann Arbor, Michigan, 48103 United States (map)

Glass artist Larry Nisson invites you to take in the sights and sounds of the fabulous glass art garden exhibit located in the backyard of his Westside Ann Arbor home — and take a piece home with you!

Nisson Glass Art is hosting a garden art show and sale to benefit the Ann Arbor Art Center (A2AC) Art in Public program. All proceeds from the sale will help fund the Art in Public program, which has brought colorful murals and other great art installations to Ann Arbor streets and alleyways in the years it has been active.

“A few years ago, my wife Lucie and I formed the Lucie and Larry Nisson Art in Public Program in partnership with the Ann Arbor Art Association. Our goal is to bring art into the public spaces of our city. We’ve made possible murals, painted utility boxes, and the painting of the railroad bridge over Huron Street in downtown Ann Arbor. Lucie and I believe art in public adds positivity to the city for all who live there,” Nisson says.

Larry Nisson has been working artistically with glass for over thirty years. He started as a stained glass artist and then became involved in glass blowing and glass sculpting. Many of his pieces are on display around Washtenaw County in local businesses and homes. On top of Nisson’s work with the Art in Public program, he is also one of the founders of Ann Arbor’s Westside Art Hop, a beloved neighborhood art fair that hosted its 23rd event in June 2026, which showcased over 85 artists at 43 Westside Ann Arbor homes.

In addition to Nisson’s glass art, the garden art show will also feature works by local artist Wendy Bauer-Braun, landscape painter and woodworker, whose passion for the outdoors inspires her work. Her paintings capture the calm shifts within daily landscapes painted on wood panels and complemented by her handmade frames. She and her husband Mark Braun also make fine furniture at their home studio. Bauer-Braun’s works have been at venues such as Kerrytown Concert House, Found Gallery in Kerrytown, Westside Art Hop, and The Ann Arbor Original Art Fair.

We hope to see you there!

Best Wishes,
